Deputies responded to the 2400 block of White Sands Boulevard, Alamogordo, to assist New Mexico State Police regarding a vehicle pursuit resulting in the subsequent arrest of the driver for driving while intoxicated.

Helen Martinez, 31, of the 400 block of Canal, following the investigation of possible child abuse, was issued a citation for alleged cruelty to children after she allegedly struck her child in the face, leaving visible injuries.
